They're back: the K4A christmas ornaments!
As Knitting4Alzheimer turns 5, we’re going back to our roots, selling handmade Christmas ornaments to support Alzheimer research!
About Knitting for Alzheimer
In 2018, we, a group of imec colleagues, decided to raise money for Alzheimer research. And what better way to do this than by turning to our collective passion for handcraft. Together with other colleagues, family and friends, we made and sold more than 1.000 knitted Christmas ornaments.
The year after, in 2019, we crocheted keychains and in 2020 we turned to our sewing skills to make >500 mouth masks. In 2021, we knitted colourfull cotton hand cloths for an environmentally friendly household.
Imec, as an R&D hub making solutions for a better and healthier life, supported these actions and each year doubled the raised money. In this way, we raised >20.000 euro for the Stichting Alzheimer Onderzoek

Are you a classic or crazy Christmas-person?
In our anniversary year – Knitting4Alzheimer turns 5 – we want to treat you again to an unforgettable Christmas with some beautiful ornaments. We are making two collections of crocheted ornaments. The ‘crazy’ collection consists of 5 colors (petrol blue, fuchsia, light pink, purple and green) and 2 sizes (7cm and 5cm diameter). The ‘classic’ collection consists of 3 colors (red, white and silver-grey) in the 7cm-size. All are topped with a sparkling golden tip, just like a real Christmas ornament. Prices are 5 and 7 euro, for the small and large size respectively. You can order via the button ‘knitting4alzheimer pop up’ on the top of this page

Special thanks to the different knitting shops that have supported us throughout the years: Ilymey, Wolsalon and De Franse Herder

In love with our first collection?
Our ‘best-selling’ products are defenitely our 2018-Christmas ornaments (designs by Arne & Carlos, Norway). We raised almost 5.000 euro that year. Would you like to add some unique pieces to your collection? Contact us and choose your design and color.
